Thermal analyses

Raad van AccreditatieThermal analyses provide insight into the expansion and shrinking behaviour of a material when it is heated or cooled. We measure this using a contact dilatometer or an optical dilatometer.

In addition, we also have an optical flex meter, which allows us to determine sagging behaviour as a function of temperature (thermal stability), or the compression and tension forces in a two-layer or multi-layer system (such as glazes attached to a clay base).

We use thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) to determine the weight loss of a material as a function of temperature. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) is used to determine the endothermic and exothermic reactions associated with temperature increase.

As a well-known and well-established knowledge institute, we have advanced equipment that we can use for a broad range of measuring techniques.

Please download our laboratory prospectus if you wish to obtain more information about the possibilities in our laboratory. Or contact us at telephone number +31 (0)26 3845600. We are pleased to answer any queries you may have.
